See the cash and bank book

The cash and bank book shows the receipts and the payments of cash and bank accounts for a period. You must have the View cash and bank reports permission.

The Cash and bank book page

Select the accounts and the dates

  1. In Account, select one cash account or one bank account. Or, select All cash accounts or All bank accounts.
  2. Type the first date in From. Type the last date in To.
  3. To see a total after each day, select Show daily totals.

The default is all cash accounts, from the start of the fiscal year to today. At a branch, you see the accounts of the branch and the accounts that have no branch.

Read the book

Each account has its own section:

A transfer between two accounts of the report shows in the sections of both accounts. The book includes posted documents only. When a draft document has a date in the period, a note above the table tells you.

A reversed document shows two entries: the document and its reversal. The particulars of the reversal starts with "Reversal:".

Hide the reversed documents

Select Hide the reversed documents and their reversals in this period. The book then does not show a document and its reversal when both have a date in the period. The two entries cancel each other, so the opening balance, the totals and the closing balance do not change.

When only one of the two entries has a date in the period, the book shows that entry. Then the balances stay correct. The criteria line of the book and of the print tells you that the option is on.

Open a document

Select the number of a line. The receipt, the payment or the transfer opens.

Print or export the book

Select Print to make a PDF file. Select Export to save an Excel or CSV file. Refer to Print and export a report.
