See the details of a user
The user detail page shows the profile, the roles, the permissions and the activity of one user. You need the permission View users to open the page.

Open the page
- Select Users.
- Select the name of the user.
What the page shows
The page has these tabs. A tab shows only when you have the permission for it.
- Profile and roles: the name, the Sign-in name, the Type of account, the Status, the Language and the Last sign-in. The Roles card shows each role of the user and its place.
- Permissions: what the user can do at each place. It is the total of all the roles of the user. Places that you cannot see are not shown.
- Sessions: the devices where the user is signed in now. You need the permission Sign users out.
- Sign-in history: the sign-ins of the user. You need the permission View security log.
- Security events: the changes to the account of the user, for example a role that somebody gave. You need the permission View security log.
Select Show older events to see more events.
What you can do on this page
The buttons at the top show only when you have the permission for them. You cannot use them on your own account.
- Edit: change the name. For a user without e-mail, you can also change the username and the language.
- Reset password: set a temporary password for a user without e-mail.
- Send the invitation again and Cancel the invitation: for a user with the status Invited. See Add a user.
- Deactivate or Reactivate. See Deactivate or reactivate a user.
- Give a role on the Roles card. See Give a role to a user.
- Sign out and Sign out everywhere on the Sessions tab. See Deactivate or reactivate a user.
Unlock a user
After too many wrong passwords or codes, the system stops the sign-in of the user for 15 minutes. The system also sends an e-mail to the user. The page then shows "This user is locked until" and the time. You can end the stop early. You need the permission Reset passwords.
- Make sure that the user, and not another person, entered the wrong passwords. For example, call the user.
- Select Unlock.
- If the Confirm it is you dialog opens, type your Password and your code. Then select Confirm.
The user can sign in again at once. The security log records the unlock. The unlock also works for a user who uses other workspaces.
Reset the second sign-in step
The Second sign-in step card shows if the user has an authenticator app, the number of passkeys and the number of recovery codes left. Reset the second step when the user lost the phone and has no recovery codes. You need the permission Reset passwords.
Caution: The reset deletes the authenticator app, the passkeys and the recovery codes of the user. All sessions of the user end.
- On the Second sign-in step card, select Reset the second step.
- Select Reset the second step again.
- If the Confirm it is you dialog opens, type your Password and your code. Then select Confirm.
The user then signs in with the password only. If your workspace requires a second step, the user must set up a new one. You cannot reset a user who also uses another workspace: the card then says that only the platform operator can do it.
