See the trial balance
The trial balance shows the balance of each account from the posted entries. The debit total and the credit total are always equal. You must have the View financial statements permission to see the Trial balance page.

Select the form of the trial balance
The trial balance has two forms.
- As on a date shows the balance of each account on the date: a debit or a credit.
- For a period shows the opening balance, the debits and credits of the period, and the closing balance.
- Select As on a date or For a period.
- Type the date, or the first and the last date of the period. Refer to Type dates and amounts quickly.
- Select the Level.
The report shows the accounts and groups of the chart to the level that you select. A group above the level shows in bold with the total of its accounts. A group at the level shows the total of all the accounts below it. The Total row adds the rows that are not in bold.
What the trial balance includes
- The trial balance includes posted entries only. When a draft voucher has a date in the period, a note above the table tells you. Select Open the drafts to see the drafts.
- An account without a balance and without entries does not show. To show it, select Show rows without figures.
- An inactive account with a balance always shows. The text "(inactive)" follows its name.
- When you work in one branch, the report shows the entries of that branch. To see the whole company, select All branches in the top bar.
Open the ledger of an account
