Export a log to a CSV file
You can save the security log or the business history in a CSV file. You must have the Export logs permission and the permission to see the log.
Before you start
- Set the filter of the page. The file contains the entries that the filter shows.
- You can export only the entries of the places where you have the Export logs permission.
Steps
- Open the Security log page or the Business history page.
- In the Show list, select the entries that you want.
- Select Export to CSV.
- If the Confirm it is you dialog opens, type your Password. If the dialog also shows Code from the app, type the code from your authenticator app.
- Select Confirm.
- When the notice "Your export is ready" shows, select Notifications (the bell) at the top of the screen.
- Select the notice.
Result
The browser downloads the file. The system makes the file in the background, so the notice can come after some time.
Rules and limits
- Only you can download the file.
- Caution: The file is available for 24 hours only. After this time, export the data again.
- You can make 20 exports in one hour.
- A file contains 100,000 entries or less. If there are more entries, the file contains only the newest entries. Then the notice says so. To export older entries, use a filter.
- If the export fails, the notice "Your export failed" shows. For example, your permission changed. Try again or speak to your administrator.
- The security log records each export as Security log exported or Business history exported.
